The Conference will bring together experts from all over the world in the field of museology, archival and librarianship, conservators, and restorers. And experts whose main occupation is the protection of cultural assets to exchange experiences. Lecturers will present new knowledge in the protection of cultural assets, establishing and thereby improving the previous knowledge in the field of displaying cultural goods. Among them are Roger S. Wieck, the Melvin R. Seiden Curator and Department Head of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York, and Rasha A. Shaheen, Senior Photographs and Paper Conservator at The Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt.

The Conference will cover the following topics: assessing display requirements, incorporating preservation and security into the exhibition process, providing interactive experiences, conservation-restoration for exhibition, experiences with traveling exhibitions, and sustainable exhibit design.
To improve the field of cultural heritage protection, the Conference will explore best practices in approaches to sustainable preventive protection and risk management. Including preservation and security in the exhibition process before, during, and after the exhibition. New technologies and ideas can improve visitors' qualitative experience while maintaining appropriate conditions for the preservation of artifacts. However, traditional approaches should not be ignored or misrepresented either.

Lectures and presentations are intended for curators, exhibition designers, preparers, conservators, librarians, archivists, and security personnel. It is suitable for everyone involved in planning, designing, and setting up exhibitions in cultural institutions and the general public. The goal is to connect with society and encourage them to participate in protecting and preserving cultural heritage. It is essential to understand that the security of cultural heritage within a specific social context depends on the natural and emotional connection of the community with its cultural heritage. More importantly, the fact the community needs to be aware and informed.

Dubrovnik Research Library will present Dubrovnik's cultural heritage at the Conference. Dubrovnik Research Library keeps material cultural heritage such as manuscripts, incunabulum (early printed books, especially one published before 1501), correspondence, old and rare books, librettos, and graphic collections whose value is priceless. Besides them, Dubrovnik Research Library will also present the intangible heritage of the City of Dubrovnik.
Culture represents the core of national identity, understanding, and acceptance of others. The plans are to improve the conditions for protecting and presenting Croatian cultural heritage and encourage action and involvement in the protection process. By gathering a large number of experts and the general public at the Conference, the goal is to make contacts and increase the possibility of international cooperation.
